About the author

Hi! I’m Vicki. For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a mother. It didn’t happen for me until later in life. In fact I watched all of my friends get married and have children in their twenties and early thirties and kind of resigned myself to the fact that it may never happen for me. I just bounced from mediocre relationship to mediocre relationship, encountering a barrage of shit heads along the way. Then I met my now husband Ryan. He changed my life and showed my what love was meant to be. He is my rock, my soulmate, my everything and every cheesy cliched phrase in between.

It took us a long time to get pregnant. Two years in fact. I hadn’t realised that getting pregnant wasn’t just a wam, bam and the job is done kind of thing. We even started to get tested to see if there were issues stopping us getting pregnant. Then one night (after two bottles of Prosecco), our miracle happened. I became pregnant with my daughter, a few months before my 40th birthday.

The idea for Where The Wild Moms Are came
about because, as I scrolled through social media, I became tired of the perfectly curated feeds about motherhood and pregnancy. I wanted to see the real, the nitty gritty that related to me. I also had so many questions about pregnancy and motherhood and I had to go wide and far to find the answers.

I’m no expert. I’m a first time mom- I have zero idea what I’m doing!! But I hope that my  content resonated with the wild of motherhood that we all go through. I hope I can share with you the answers I found and that they might help you too as you amble along your own glorious path. The wild is vast but we’re in it together .
